Netflix: Season 3 of Stranger Things “will be worth it”

Last December, Stranger Things star David Harbour said in an interview that the show likely would not return for its third season until sometime in 2019, and a recent artificial business to get a new mall at Hawkins triumphed at a summer 2019 release. During a presentation at this year's Television Critics Association press tour, Netflix executives confirmed a delay but stated that it'll be"worth the wait."

During the TCA presentation, Netflix's vice president of original content Cindy Holland noted that the show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer and Shawn Levy, were aware of their expectations for the next season of this supernatural show and said that"they want to deliver something better and bigger than what they did last year. And consequently, they really want to spend the opportunity to get it ." Holland also indicated that the next season is going to have some more extensive special effects than previous seasons. The streaming service did not show a launch date for this season.

Netflix renewed the series for a third year a year ago prior to the moment had aired. While a year's outing didn't quite match up with the very first, Stranger Things is still among the streaming service's biggest draws. However, while the show's first two seasons aired in consecutive years, this next season seems to be destined to get a 2019 launch (along together with the last season of HBO's Game of Thrones).
